Feedback From "Renew Your Mind" Group Event
My best take-away would be those 4 steps. I want to make a notecard and put it in my purse for practice. I know we can learn concepts all day but application is the only way we’re going to make this work. I learned I am not alone, I’m not the only one. I am encouraged that we can all do this with our own frame times. Thanks everyone who participated, I appreciate the honesty, I feel like I am in the right place.
While reflecting on what I learned, I realized in addition to the four pillars to empowering dialogue, there was another equally important take away for me from our group discussion - it was the emphasis on progress not perfection! We are all taking steps towards transforming our minds and actions, and we have habits that have been with us for so long that the changes we aspire towards won't take place over night... But being aware and having tools to pull from is what truly makes the difference.
One thing that was super powerful was the steps we learned stop it, write it, rethink it, and replace it. It was really the rethink it for me. In particular the way Steph used the word empowerment or empower rather than positive thoughts. And how when we reframe our thoughts they needed to be believable to us. That really hit home for me rather than just saying something positive as a substitute to our negative thought.
